If you have a scanner that's not officially supported in recent versions of OSX, such as my Canon CanoScan LiDE 20, then you may have found your way to the SANE drivers and TWAIN backend, which worked with Leopard and Snow Leopard. Unfortunately, they no longer work with OSX 10.7 Lion. I've repackaged those drivers for manual installation, and am providing them here for you to use.

This is a simple repackaging of the TWAIN SANE Interface for MacOS X, by Mattias Ellert.

NOTE: Some users have followed the command line setup instructions and gotten confused by the ~/.profile file. This file may not exist by default. You can create/edit it from the command line with:
nano ~/.profile
Ctrl-X to save/exit once you have added the proper declarations.

Installation instructions are included in the Zip file. Here's a screenshot of me using the drivers with Apple's Image Capture to scan my comic, The Soup Mines

Enjoy!
